Clove of Garlic, Saffron and Other Cooking Questions

I have started to love watching cooking shows on television. The Food Network has become my newest best friend. So as I watch Mario Battali, Masaharo Morimoto, and Giada De Laurentiis, I am constantly confounded by the ingredients they are using and the whole set of terms they use when dealing with it. Some of my questions for this week are: What Is A Clove Of Garlic? What is chicken stock? And what is saffron? I know they seem so basic. A lot of you will probably say these are foolish questions. But so help me, I really don’t know. I’ve never liked cooking before. I still really don’t like it now. But for some reason, I enjoy watching it. I like the excitement the chefs get from cooking above everything. The way their eyes light up. Its cute and funny. In a weird way since I can’t relate, but cute and funny nonetheless. Plus everything they do seem to look so mouthwatering.
